she may be a little princess, but i'm still the king

things are going great here. the action has died down considerably. every now and then we will have visitors, but not nearly as much. sage is sticking around. and actually she is starting to grow on me. i must admit that i have become quite fond of the little lady. i have graciously allowed her to use the small cozy beds that obviously were meant for me, and i also have decided i would share richie's lap with her...

and on occasion i'll even share steph's lap. although steph does seem to be spending more time with sage than me, that's ok. i've been catching up on my rest and doing a little more exploring.
sage is almost as big as i am now, but i am still bigger, and much older. i thinki should help take care of her. i keep an eye on her room, i keep the little beds warm for her, and i supervise richie and steph to make sure they are doing a good job with her. this is me supervising richie giving her a bath. i have decided if she is going to be staying here for good, i might as well be her friend.

or maybe more than her friend. i think i'll be her big brother. even though i'm still not sure if she's a cat or a human, she's just so darn cute :) well i suppose i'll chat later, time for a cat nap.

finally some excitement around here

lots has happened since i last posted. richie and steph were gone for a while but then things got busy when they got back. they left on june 23rd and came back on the 27th. steph's parents and richie's sister and her family came. lots of other people came to visit too the next week. it's the most visitors we've ever had. they were nice and they petted me and paid me lots of attention.
there is one visitor who has been here quite a while and hasn't left yet. the others pay her lots of attention too. her name is sage. i'm not sure if she is a human or a cat. she doesn't meow or have much fur or use a litter box, so i don't think she's a cat. but she doesn't talk or use a toilet either, so i'm not sure if she's a human. she makes lots of little noises, and she poops in little white things steph puts in the trash. she doesn't even try to bury her poop. in fact she doesn't seem to do much of anything. kind of a boring guest if u ask me. i'm still trying to figure her out, but right now i don't find her very interesting.

one cool thing is that there are more little beds for me to try out. they are even smaller than the other bed, and so warm and cozy. i can't wait to see what kind of new stuff will show up next and who else will be coming to visit me.

things are still weird...

so not much has happened with the living room or the floors. i am getting used to them. even adrienne has come out of her cage to explore. but the back office has been totally transformed. it's a little prissy if you ask me, but it's pretty cozy. there's even a little bed with a tiny pillow that's just my size. but when i took a nap there, richie picked me up by my scruff and threw me out. i was outraged! i am a grown cat... only kittens get scruffed. so apparently this little bed is meant for someone else. who that someone else is, i don't know yet, but i aim to find out. and in the mean time, i am just hiding out under the bed to see who sleeps there, but so far it's always empty. i'll post pics of the bed later. but i have more interesting pics to share... horrifying pics, of steph. she is still growing, and i am afraid she will hit the bursting point soon.

!!! WARNING !!! THESE PICS ARE GRAPHIC... DO NOT SCROLL DOWN IF YOU HAVE A WEAK STOMACH !!!

see what i mean, can she possibly stretch out any further?

and this is not a deformed pig hoof... it is actually steph's foot. it's almost as big as me

like i said... horrifying!

big changes

let me tell you things are really changing around here. at first i thought richie and steph were crazy. they ripped up all the comfy, cozy carpet and left the ugly concrete. they were moving things all around the house and making a big mess. then all these boards came, and they were cutting them making everything dusty and laying them all around in little piles. i thought it was mess making time, so i tried to help by unrolling a roll of toilet paper in the bathroom and tabby helped by unraveling a ball of string all over the house. finally after a few weeks i could tell what they were up to. new floors! i am still not sure how i feel about them. i like them for the most part, but when i need to get somewhere in a hurry my feet slip and it's like i'm running in place. but adrienne can't even walk on them at all, so at leastnow i don't have to worryabout her coming after me.

the mess

new floors

i also now have a personal door to the garage, which is kind of interesting. i have never really had garage access before, so it's a new place for me and tabby to explore. they also put the litter box out there, so now we have a little more privacy. although it did take me a while to get used to the door. you see, all the other doors in the house are pretty much automatic. all i have to do is paw at them and then richie or steph comes to open it right away. but, they don't come open this new little door. i pawed and pawed forever, until i finally realized that i could just walk through it. needless to say, i felt quite silly after that.

Also an update on steph. her most recent picture, still growing. i am starting to worry she might keep getting bigger forever. what if she can't fit through the doorways, or bend down to feed me, or what if she squishes me because she can't see me? she stepped on my tail today. her belly is becoming a safety hazard in my opinion.

it's official

there is no denying it in these pictures... steph is definately getting bigger. i am finding it so difficult to get comfortable on her these days. at night she sleeps on her side and hogs all the pillows. so i just decided to sleep right next to her head on her pillow since she is being so greedy. and it's even harder to lay on her when she's on the couch. i have to balance on that big round belly. and the weirdest thing is, it moves. yes, at first i thought i was just imagining it, that maybe i hit the catnip a little too much. but something is moving in there. it thumps at my belly when i am laying down, but when i get up to look, nothing is there. weird i tell you.

New stuff

Something is happenning around the house. Richie and Steph keep coming home with new things. Some are big and colorful and make noise and some are soft and small and some I just don't know what to make of. They are being kept in the back office. And some of the other furniture in the office had to be moved to make room for it all. This little one is my favorite, although it's not a very flattering picture of me.

It is soft and if you step on it it makes music and a night light. And it's good for keeping Tabby away. One day I was napping with this new little friend, and Tabby comes along trying to barge into my space and wakes me up. She stepped on it, and when it started making music, she got so scared she jumped at least 4 feet into the air and then hid under the desk. It was so funny. Guess you had to be there. Hopefully that will teach her not to bother me during my naps. I wonder if any of these other new things can be useful.

what's all this cold stuff?

Sorry for my absence. I've been busy with cat business, but I do have something to report. On Feb 23rd the most curious thing happened. Little white things fell out of the sky and landed in the yard. When Steph came home for her lunch, I pawed at the door like I usually do because I wanted to investigate. But when she opened the door for me it was freezing cold. There was no way I was going out there. But Steph went out. I swear, sometimes she doesn't have the sense god gave a squirrel. Later in the day, Richie came home and went outside too. When I refused to follow, he picked me up, completely against my will, and tossed me out in the yard. It was soo cold, and not at all fun. I was quite offended, as you can tell in these pictures. But it was rather interesting to see the yard all covered in white. I just wish it wasn't so cold. I am an inside cat you know.

this is me looking offended
